Estou doente e como tal tenho andado fora do computador.
Ontem ainda tentei por-me ocupada a editar fotos mas a coisa não correu bem e acabei por ficar quietinha no sofá. Hoje, apesar de tudo, tirei uma horinha para responder a e-mails e adiantar o que podia das coisas que ainda tenho por fazer.
No entanto não estou a ter sucesso, a capacidade de concentração está a zero e acabo por não fazer nada na realidade.

Vou ter de esperar até estar melhor para fazer coisas e ser mais pro-activa.
Pode ser que a nuvem negra tenha desaparecido agora que chove.

Tal como disse, 2012 em mother tongue, sort of.

Ora 2012 passou-se pelos nortes do país, entre viagens e fotos e risos, familia nova e familia antiga.
O Natal, o primeiro na minha casinha pequenina, que acolheu os mais queridos e teve espaço para eles todos.

Dos dias mais frios, no 1 negativo sem neve infelizmente.

Mas somos mais, cada vez mais.

E neste dia 2, já posso dizer que estive no norte e no centro, com a familia antiga e com a nova, com os pais e as irmãs. Já fui ao hospital e se correr bem, para a semana já tenho alta. A irmã dorme na sala, o hubby está internado até ficar melhor e a casa parece maior do que é.
Os mais próximos já mandaram beijinho e uma encomenda aguardada do estrangeiro já chegou.
Em dois dias, já se fez o que muitos fazem num ano.

So, college is finally over and I can breeeeeeeeathe!
All the presents are under the Christmas tree and there's only one or two things left to do now.

Pedro has been drawing and working on a few project at home, during the free time and, I've been knitting. I'm hoping on learning how to do more things besides simple scarves and arm warmers.. Hoping that I can knit some things for the dolls.

I've been commenting some stuff in the AF group on Facebook, which is a group for angolan photographers and enthusiasts and I might post some stuff on the blog, like I used to do when I was living the united states. Be aware that I'm not a professional, I've just been shooting for a while. I'm only going to talk about the things I actually know, give some examples and share some links.

And about the dolls, I'm also going to post my customizations here and I might even sell them if there's anyone interested. Nothing big, again, just another amateur here.

But I believe that sharing what we know is a good thing for other to learn from and for us to grow.

I'm going to Chaves for the New Years so I won't post the 365 days during a week, but I'll be taking the pictures and I'll post them on the 1st or 2nd of January 2012.

Can't believe a whole year is gone. I can't remember most of the year, and I think the car crash and the whole hospital thing as something to so with it. 2011 was a struggle. So even thou Portugal is going through a rough path, the year that is slowly coming will be a good one.

And I'm sorry for all the girly stuff on the blog, but this is a personal blog so, expect some more every now and then!

I'm also going to finally post the pictures from Angola and Spain sometime this week.

I remember watching Peter Rabbit since I was little.
I always loved that intro.

Years late I find myself to still love some of the cartoons I watched when I was little(-r).

Beatrix Potter was an awesome illustrator for her time, and still an awesome illustrator.
She came from a family of artists and drew a lot during her life, not just the tales.

BBC's made a tv series about her tales, those were the ones I remember: The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends. And there's also the movie: Miss Potter.

Although we don't have Thanksgiving as a portuguese tradition, it's something I always really appreciated as i was slowly moving to the US.

I've lots of editing to do, but my bamboo pen just decided to stop working for no reason.

If you live in Sintra or in Lisbon, or even if you like cartoons and drawings you should visit the Amadora BD - International Comics Festival, that celebrates its 22nd birthday.

The exhibition is showing the first portuguese game - Under Siege, you can play it there as they have 3 PS 3 available for everyone to try and all the sketches. They also have the book “A Arte de Under Siege” for €16.95 with 3d images and unseen illustrations!
Althought I was expecting more international artists, Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy' got me very impressed with the quality of the drawings!
I still can't bealive I barely saw Tintins comics, if at all!So, you see for yourself, next weekend is the Cosplay show, which means a lot of fun!

The entrance is only 5€, but students and seniors pay only 2€.
If you have a Destak or Metro newspaper you might be a lucky winner of a free ticket!

Hello there people!

During the weekend I got to go to the Bienal de Artes Plásticas e Design Industrial!

Overall I think it was ok, but I was expecting so much more! More people, more projects, more enthusiastic stuff to ramble about. But there was not.

I got to go to the Storytailors fashion show, on the 29th and even thou greatness was promised, greatness was not shown.

The first thing wrong about it, and I am problably not the only one that has a complaint about it, was the fact that the flyers, website and whatever paper that had the exhibition/conference/show on it, said that the entrances were free. I have never read or heard anyone say that the fashion show was by invitation only so when we got there, there were several people at the dool waiting for some nice soul to give them some extra invitations.
Not good.
Unfortunately, the show was too short, I personally think they could have used 5 more outfits.
For those who have seen 'Inês' by Storytailors might know what I am talking about.
'Inês' was mindblowing.
There was also a little hiccup. The models wouldn't go to the end of the runway and they would stop somewhere in the middle of it, the guy who was taking care of the light would only illuminate the clothes, totally forgetting to point the light to the models face aswell.

Besides that, I am thankful to all the people who let us in. The crew was incredibly nice and sweet, and very understanding.

The musicians were awesome too! Kinda remind me of Apocalyptica.

Now that I have internet at home, I can finally run the blog the way I wanted it to run.
So besides my regular rambling and random photo posting, I'd like to also add a few projects and themed posts in certain week days.

Last week I've got the opportunity to go to a japanese illustration workshop hosted by the Tokyo Polytechnic University ( Tokyo Kougei Daigaku in japanese and the univeristy is set in Atsugi, Kanagawa ) and meet some very awesome people one of them being Kotabe Yōichi ( 小田部羊 ), who was involved in the making of Heidi, SuperMario and Pokemon.

I finally got internet connection at the new place so I finally can start to blog again!

For now, all I can say is that life is being kind to me, after the accident and the whole health drama.

Barcelona doesn't seem so far away anymore and London can also become a very cute alternative.
Barcelona is my dream city to live and I kind of have a relationship with that city since I was 16 years old! I just feel so good there, the city is so inspiring. London is more like a easy way to go, sort of. Also, Tokyo is getting it's way on my heart. I always loved anime and the japanese culture and recent events made me think about new alternatives for the future. It all depends on me.

I had to put photography on hold for a while to pursue other dreams that seemed to be further away than I wanted them to be, so I had to work on that, and putting photography aside was the only alternative.
I am not quitting thou, just taking a break.

I trully coulnd't be happier with everything that is happening to me right now and how my life turned out to become so easy to live during the past year.
